1001 Books Challenge

For Christmas 2009, I received 1,001 Books You Must Read Before You Die (2006). The Challenge is to read all 1001 (before you die, right?). To read just one a week would take more than 19 years, but I am going to read as many as possible! This blog will trace the experience of reading them, in addition to highlighting what else I am reading. While certainly this project isn’t unique (many blogs out there are devoted to it or a similar one), it’s still fun to do. Literacy cannot be promoted enough!

Here’s my version of the reading list (in a word processing chart), with what I’ve read marked (updated once every couple of weeks): http://sites.google.com/site/professorstacyshandouts/home/1001Chart.rtf?attredirects=0&d=1
(Feel free to download and use for your own purposes).

You can also see what has been blogged here. Guest bloggers are from my courses, and students who submit guest blogs receive extra credit. Here’s the details.

Happy Reading!

  6. 19 years? Yikes. I have a blog logging the books and the movies if you want to check it out. It is 1001everything.blogspot.com. Happy reading and you will be a better person for it!
