Guest Blogging

Extra Credit Opportunity: Be a Guest Blogger (Stacy’s Students)

For this extra credit opportunity, you may write a blog entry as a guest writer for my blog devoted to the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. Blog entries should be a minimum of 750 words and submitted via email, along with a note within the email giving your permission for me to publish your work on the blog. Points awarded will vary by class, but generally points awarded will be in the “participation” category or to “make up” missing / incomplete participation assignments.

Details:

Step 1: Review the 1001 Books Blog and List. The blog is located at https://professorstacy.wordpress.com/. You can click on the link “1001 Books Challenge” to download a copy of the complete list of 1001 Books.

Step 2: Choose a book that has not already been written about on my blog. See updated list here.

Step 3: Read the book (if you have not already done so).

Step 4: Write a blog entry about the book. You should read several blog entries as a model for yours. The entry should be a minimum of 750 words. It should begin with the book number from the list of books (for instance, Aesop’s Fables is Book 1 on the list).

Step 5: Submit the blog entry to me via email (stacy.taylor@kctcs.edu). Include in the subject of the email “Guest Blogger.” The body of the email should include the following
*A statement of some kind giving me permission to publish the entry.
*A statement of some kind telling me whether or not I have your permission to edit for grammar and mechanics.
*A statement of some kind telling me what (if any) biographical information you want included about yourself (for instance, “Jessica Smith is a second-year student at Maysville Community College where she studies . . . “)
*A statement of some kind telling me what (if any) email address to include as contact information.
Don’t forget to attach the blog entry or to copy and paste it into the body of the email!

Please note: All blog entries received will be sent through Safe Assign to verify that they are not plagiarized. Anything plagiarized will receive no credit and will not be published. In addition, I reserve the right not to publish entries for any reason.

Guest Blog entries must be about books from the 1001 Books list. Extra credit will not be given for other books.

I think you should include the book The Shack by W.M. Paul Young its a great read

  3. Should we send you an email of the book we have chosen to read and blog about? I would hate to read the book only to find out that someone else blogged about it the day before.
